Every sire, dam sire, and dam carries a Best Surf/Dist tag — the split where its progeny win most often. Pick a split and the win percentages, ROI, and start counts all switch to that split, so a six-furlong dirt sprint and a mile-and-a-quarter turf route are judged on their own numbers.
